Re: thinking about rebuild....help??

Well if you bought a 5.0 car and rebuilt it with that kit you would have to have the block bored .030. The pistons in the kit are for a 4.030 bore. That would give you 4 more cubic inches (306). The cam you have selected is very small. But if you are using stock heads then you wont need much more cam. If you are going to convert it to carb then I would suggest a Weiand Action+Plus intake, or a Edelbrock Performer intake. For the carb I'd suggest a Holley 600cfm double pumper.

Here are two carb choices I would suggest:

Rebuilt by Holley http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

New Holley http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

I'd pay the extra $30 for a new one but thats your call.

Here are a couple intakes that would be good for you:

Edelbrock http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

Weiand http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

Re: thinking about rebuild....help??

Almost forgot...

As far as the power with this motor, 306, 10:1cr, small cam & intake, stock heads..I'd say you could make 300fwhp with a good tune. Through a stock AOD with stock converter you will have a pretty sweet little setup. I'd say you could run high 13's on a cool night with a good launch and skilled driving.
