Water leak question

hi guys new here. I have a small question rearding a water leak into my driverseat floor. Had almost 1in. of water in on the floor. How do you fix this problem? I had to drill a whole on the floor just to releive the water cause the wet vac didnt get all of it. Any way to fix this?

Re: Water leak question

usual suspects are leaky door gaskets, possible front window seal, or the firewall. Sometimes water gets in thru the firewall and causes problems. Mine was leaking around the drivers side seal. Can replace it or put some silicone under it and re seal it perhaps... these things can be a pain to trace. Might have someone spray large amounts of water on top of car and see if you can watch for incoming.

Re: Water leak question

Mine leaked on both drivers and passengers side. I removed the entire interior - seats - carpet - ect. to find the problem. The drivers side was leaking along the firewall. I poured a tube of "flowable" silicon - problem fixed. The passenger side was another story. I siliconed, used butyl sealant - could not find problem. I then removed the glove box and found the door on the "airbox" was not sealing when it shut. A $30 trip to the dealer to get a new assembly fixed the problem. Then came the fun part - putting the interior back in.
