Thumbs down 89 dakota w/ 3.9 v6

hello i have a 89 dakota w/ 3.9 automatic with 98 thousands miles i just bought the truck ,gave it tune up and change the fuel filter.where im getting at is when i give it gas it takes awhile to get up to 55 mph,now when i pull my 14 alum boat it really takes for ever and cant get past 50 mph,the gas pedal is all the way to the floor,i did the code thing and it only shows up as code 55.thank you

There's nothing wrong with it, it's just a gutless six cylinder.

That was a lame reply! I could be that your transmission is slipping. Try a transmission service and maybe adding a cooler.

the six cylinder is very gutless the only way they seem powerful is in the manual trans trucks it takes more horsepower to run an automatic
