93 Taurus Head Gasket replacement
Does anybody know if the motor has to come out of the car? I'm looking at the exhaust mainfold that faces the rear of the car thinking I won't be able to get the bolts off. Any sugestions? I might end up junking it if the motor has to come out.

Re: 93 Taurus Head Gasket replacement
Removing the engine wouldnt be the end of the world.....you just need time, tools, and a cherry picker. However, with the wonderful Ford 3.0 OHV or 3.8 OHV engines....you are probably better off letting the car go away.Much like Dodge Intrepid 2.7/3.3 cars....they arent worth fixing generally. If you can find a similar year Buick/Olds/Pontiac full size or mid sizer with 3.8 Buick engine in good shape..keep it.Those are darned dependable engines. They have their roots back to 1964.
