Celica GT-Four looses power during rapid accelaration

Help. my 1993 Celica GT-4 has developed a problem. when i stick my foot down, the car accelerates, then lunges and splutters, around 4500 to 5500rpm depending on how fast i'm trying to accelerate. Can anyone help please?

could be a boost leek. my alltrac did the same thing, do you have a boost controller or did u at one time?

have you upped the boost at all? most likely a boost leak if not

I wouldnt know. Jap import and i'm new to the turbo life. which hoses should i look at to check for splits, is that what you mean by boost leak? Could it be the fuel filter, as the car has only been driven for a week in the last few months, as it has only just been imported.

look at the boost guage, is it climbing at all, or slowly? has it done this scince you bought it or did it just develope

put the car in a 3rd or 4th from a slow roll, then hit the gas all the way untill you have hit full boost if the boost dile drops and jumps or cuts then its a boost leek. so check the hose going from your wast gate to your compressor housing.

yeah, the boost guage climbs, possibly slower than it used to, but it never goes all the way up now, cuz the engine starts jerking the car about, so i let off the gas. the problem has got worse over the last week. but it has always been there since i got the car on 15th may, only it just used to kick a bit around 6000rpm when i was hoofing it. the pipes feel really brittle, possibly where it has been standing for a long time? gonna change the fuel filter wednesday, and check out the hoses. would i be able to see a split hose, cuz presumably it only opens up with turbo pressure, and i havn't got rolling road available.

my car did the same.... ,check your injector clips,check your timeing you need to jump t1 and te1 in the diognostic box to time it, also let your car run for a min and then put your hand close to the distributer and if you get the crap zaped out of you....its probly a bad coil wire or sparkplug wire.
becaus your wires will just short out at more RPM's and the car will skip.

But you can rev it up when in neutral, or drive it gently all the way past 6000rpm, with no judder, cutting or anything, just has to rev up slowly. whenerver you require torque, its just not there. will try zapping myself in the morning though, sounds fun.

yup it is lol, you can buy the coil wire and new spark plug wires for like $50 bucks from napa

Thanks for all your help, the rotor arm was breaking up, until it finally died, then it was discovered the arm was in pieces. ECU needs a reset to, should be back on the road in no time.
