Re: vtec
There is a vtec wire that if you hook up a test light will light up when vtec is engaged. Now i dont know where or what the wire connects to, so someone please help. Some cars have a vtec light that comes on when vtec engages, so hooking up a test light shouldnt be a problem.

Re: vtec
The wire you are referring to engages the vtec solenoid and will tell you that the electrical signal is there to activate it. It should come on somewhere around 5g rpms.

Re: vtec
I know mine comes on at about 5500 rpm. You'll kind of feel a kick and a little boost of power. It's kind of hard to feel in a SOHC, but it's there. I'm planning on hooking up a vtec engagement light tomorrow if I have the time. What you do is you splice a wire to the vtec solenoid wire, run it into the car, hook it up to an LED and then ground the other side of the LED. Then when vtec is engaged it'll light up. If you search for "vtec light" you'll get a few threads a little more detailed on the install of that light. Should be pretty fun to install.

Re: vtec
if vtec does not work, your cel will tell you. if your cel is not on, vtec is working.
