in need of a 2.4L crank

hey, I am in need of a 2.4L crankshaft and main bearings.

If you happen to have a 1996 or so 2.4L TC and have a GOOD crank, Email me or PM.

I'm looking in the usual places as well, junk yards, and other J-body sites, as well as Ebay.

I dont need the whole motor, I just need a crank, for my project.

If you are looking for a crank I would suggest either Autozone or Advanced Auto, if you plan on keeping the car. You can get a remanufactured one for around 200 - 250 bones. Would be well worth it if you are going to change it.

Re: in need of a 2.4L crank

Do not get one from advance or Autozone,it maybe no good.Take the new crankshaft a machine shop to get checked with a micrometer to see if it is up to specs.I have ran into this, but with new Chrysler 2.7 crankshafts.Bought them from Carquest and Auto Value, took them to a machine shop and found out they were no good. They were out of specs.I know there is one in the scrap pile behind my father's shop and it maybe no good

Re: in need of a 2.4L crank

well, reman is usually ground to one size under, I need stock size for my project, to get the journals the right size. I'm using it in a stroker, so the machine shop needs the stock crank and bearings.

If the crank has ANY wobble in it, over blueprint specs, it's gotta go. I'll mic it at work to make sure it's at it's smallest on all journals and across the whole crank.

besides, stock is stronger than the smaller reground. I may have to visit a local "pick-a-part" for this one.
