Firehawk LT4s

How rare are they really? Only 30 made in a year? For how many years and are they seriously worth 20 grand? They're the coolest formulas I've ever seen.

But the hood says "330 HP"

I think the hood makes the car; It's our opinions. Flat formulas look strange to me, and it's the same reason I prefer a reverse hood on a trans am to the ws6 hood.

Re: Firehawk LT4s

Well the LT4 was only available on the firebird and camaro in '97 so I think only like 29 firebird firehawks had the LT4 engines..and it's a shame they never used the trans am style body, looks much better than the formula IMO..

I could have sworn they were made in 1996 also.

http://www.f-body.org/tech/4th_gen.htm
if you scroll down a bit to the firebird production numbers box '97 is the only year listed with LT4's

http://www.pontiac-club.com/engines.php
and same for this one..although I'm confused about the number of them becase they both say that 400 LT4 powered f-bodies were made but the first site says in one of its boxes that only 29 firehawks were made in '97

Re: Firehawk LT4s

What do those things run 1/4 mile wise.

For $20K i'd buy a C5 vette. Dunno about it being worth that much. Sheesh.

This may seem offtopic but why do you think your LT1 is slow compared to an LS1?

1/4 mile...low 13s maybe? I can't find anything official

Sure a common C5 is better but the LT4 f-body is a collector car and the fastest production f-body for it's time.

LT1 are not as far behind LS1 as you may think. A few mods and your right there. I was beating LS1 with a gear swap and my catback.

Also Typical LT1's run low 14's , high 13's. while typical LS1 runs mid 13's to low 13's. Not a huge margin there. Typical 6 speed stock LS1's dyno around 300 mark while typical 6 speed stock LT1's dyno around 250 - 260. Thats not a lot to make up for.
