HELP (Please) 2000 isuzu rodeo, transmission
I think my transmission oil is low, due to a small leak on the shifter, i will get that fixed. but my question is where can i check it at, how do i add it, i was going to add some stop leak until i get to the garage next week, its a tiny leak, but will get fixed... my question is where do i add it at or how do i check the level or know if i have added enough trans fluid??? the only thing i see is 2 large bolts on the bottom of the trans pan bottom. and suggestions on adding and checking fluid and where to do that at... would be appreciated greatly ( by the way if you add it on the bottom by chance, how or what do you use to get it (UP) in teh transmission! you cant just pour it. many thanks!

Re: HELP (Please) 2000 isuzu rodeo, transmission
you need to buy a little pump and pump it into the fill hole. It is a pain to do. I would beg to come in earlier than next week, or find another shop.

Re: HELP (Please) 2000 isuzu rodeo, transmission
When you get that leak on the shifter fixed, can you fill me in on cost and what they had to do?
I too have a very tiny tiny leak at the shifter, a few drops a week, nothing big, but was told that it wasn't an easy fix, with a comment also suggested that a transmission tear-down would be in order. Don't want to do that on a perfectly shifting auto until there's no choice.

Re: HELP (Please) 2000 isuzu rodeo, transmission
there are two plugs(drain and fill). The higher up plug is the fill. You check it by opening it witht he vehicle running in nuetral. Open it up, if it drips out, it is fine. If it doesn't, you need more. Kind of a pain, that's why I let the pro's do mine.
This is all assuming it's the v6 auto. marc |

I use a hand pump which screws on top of a quart bottle to get it up in there.
