Would you buy this bike?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Suzuk...QQcmdZViewItem

It has some damage but is near me and would probably be pretty cheap, it would be my first bike so chances are I'm gonna drop it at some point anyway.. it's more a question of whather I would be able to deal with it having scratches on it.

Re: Would you buy this bike?

If you can go visit the bike, do so, it's very important. If you have a friend who knows how to ride and knows about bikes, take him with you as well. However, if you have to have it shipped, email the bidder asking tons of questions and the sort of arrangements you might have to make for shipping cost.

Scratches on the fairings are no big deal. Just check for dent or bent on the forks, engine compression, electricals, if it starts up easily, braking feedback, any cracks on the frame. And if the owner allows it, have the rider friend take it for a ride. Often first impression can tell what the bike is hiding. Make sure it has clean title, a bike with such low miles has to have one, otherwise you can tell it has defects.

Although this bike probably has been in a serious lowside, and it could be a big deal or could be just scratches. So I would definitely go and check it out rather than take the seller's word for it.

Re: Would you buy this bike?

Those are good bikes. If you can get it pretty cheap, I say go for it. The damage is minimal and looks to be like it was only a light scuffing along the side of the bodywork and that one crack. My experience with those bikes is that they are very reliable and quick enough for a beginner bike that it wont leave you unhappy in a month.

I think I'll keep an eye on it but I'll probably pass on it and wait for an unscratched one.
