Starving the engine

I have another issue (sorry ). Initially, when I was at the track, a common issue for a stuttering engine was because of the huge capacity for gas in the RX-7, so we can assume that the engine's going to starve during hard corners, so the obvious remedy would be filling the tank up. Well, tonight, me and some friends were drifting a bit in a parking lot. I went to have a go. During a drift, I gave it full throttle and then the car stuttered, backfired, and then kept going again. At this point, my gas tank was around 80% full, so I didn't think it could just be all the gas being slushed around. It wasn't even hard braking and turning, barely changing the car's balance at all. I could take a regular turn at an intersection, but say I give it WOT half way through the turn, it'll stutter again, even if the turn was incredibly smooth, and I don't know why. I tried it out in the Eclipse, and it ran fine. Does anyone have this issue? Anyone have any ideas?

The FC is completely stock FYI. Thanks in advance.

Re: Starving the engine

i've never had this problem

check your fuel filter and/or injectors

and besides more gas in the tank wont help starvation

I meant when I was driving on empty, sorry if I wasn't clear on that part. The car wouldn't be able to do donuts because the fuel would cut off so much, but after giving it half a tank of gas, it was fine.

Re: Starving the engine

Yes, but now, even with an almost full tank of gas, it still starves during hard turns I have no idea what's going on. There's an autoX event going on tomorrow morning and I'm afraid that I won't be able to participate.

Re: Starving the engine

replace your fuel filter, might be clooged, fuel pump might be getting weak too. look at getting an aftermarket one. Something that's a little better then stock for fuel delivery.
