Trannie problems

Info: 2001 Grand Am GT (V6 3.4) I just got my trans fluid changed at 58,000 miles and every once in a while (after I've been driving a little) the car will start shifting into gear a little harder than usual. Does anyone know if this is typical for the car to do this after a trans fluid change? I keep getting mixed feelings on the topic "It should shift the same as before", "The sensors need to adjust", "The trans needs to adjust to the clean fluid".

Re: Trannie problems

welcome to AF !

Sometime it will shift a little harder, mainly because the clutches/bands surfaces probly got cleaned a bit from the new fluid.
wouldnt wrry to much unless it does it super hard, And or you develope other trans problems.

Re: Trannie problems

Thanks for the welcome... and the help. I'll try to help others, if I can. I figured it was just because the fluid got dirty before, so it is now just getting used to shifting on its own instead of having the dirts help. It was shift really hard the first time I got it changed, since the mechanic left a pint or more out, since you can't exactly measure it (thanks a lot GM, for no dipstick), but I got that fixed A.S.A.P. Thanks again.
