10mph and under brake squeak

hey folks.
after taking off from a stop and slowly creeping i get this high pitched squeak. If i tap d brake pedal during this noise, it stops,(noise goes away) so it has to be the brakes (i guess). I put on new pads 1 mth ago and this started happening last wk. so 3 wks after new pads.
Is my Calper sticking. Its not a constant squeak only when im slowly taking off from a stop. When i get to 15mph no more sueak like if the force pushed away the pads from the rotor at this speed.OH i also replaced a contol arm and bushings 2wks ago too. but would new bushings squeak at low speeds.

Please help this squeak is so high pitch it hurts the ears!

Thanks

Re: 10mph and under brake squeak

Did you have the rotors machined when you replaced the brake pads, or did you put new rotors on? If you did have them machined, or went with new then did you was the rotors in soapy water or with brake clean? If you didn't do either then that also could be your problem. What brand and quality of brake pads did you install?

the rotor was there 10 mths ago with no problems (Brembo). The pads were duralast gold.

Re: 10mph and under brake squeak

Hey CaribbeanZJ

When you installed your pads, did you use any compound between the pads and the piston/caliper?

There should have been a squeeze tube with the pads. If not or it wasn't enough, get some from the parts store. One brand I use is called "disc brake quiet" It's red in color but some others are blue.

You've likely developed a glaze on the rotors and pads that causes the squeel but dust can cause it as well.

Every brake squeels. It is just a matter of adjusting the pitch of the squeel out of the hearing range with the compounds or in some cases, using shims betweeen the backing plate of the pad and the piston/caliper face's

Re: 10mph and under brake squeak

i understand what you are saying. but my squeal dont start when i apply the brakes, it happens when im rolling slowly from a stop. Like if the brake is constantly applied. When this sueal starts, if i now tap the brake pedal it goes away.
There is no sqeek/squeal when the bake is applied.

Re: 10mph and under brake squeak

definately put some anti squeal on the pads that should take care of it. also i suggest ceramic pads those things are great and tend not to squeal. but as i said lub up the calipers and put some of the disc quiet on the pads and it should take care of it
