A4 2.8 1998 Starting Problem

Hi Guys
I am new to the forum, I bought a A4 2.8 tiptronic a few months ago and it was running perfectly - except about a week ago It started flashing the ABS light on the display and the oil light simultaneously and then last week Monday it would not start at all..........any ideas what the problem could be - as the battery is fine, the fuel is pumping through sufficiently as well and there does not seem to be a problem with the spark plugs or starter - but it just does not swing through the way it would normally......

Any suggestions would be appreciated....

I would see if someone has VAGCOM in your area and see what comes up as I'm miffed by this.
