01 monte carlo help please !!!! :)

My 01 with 66k miles on it is startin to act up. Intermediatly it will say door ajar when its clear the door isnt, the battery meter will drop to 0 while i am driving then shoot back up to normal, multiple times, it will say highbeam out when my highbeams are not out, and the temp gauge will sometimes fall to 0 and my check engine light will come on, then the gauge will go back to normal and the light will go off some moments later... i have been a die hard chevy fan since i bought my first car and i dont want to get on the band wagon of people who say american cars suck. Please help me, anyone have these problems before?? Any mechanics that could give me advice would be gigantically appreciated.

Thanks,
Aggy

you need a new ignition switch assembly, common issue on these cars. AC-Delco part number is D1432D. Here's a link to a picture of the part.
