I guess I lost a race to a new 5series.

Okay, this morning i was on my way to work and this dumb ass driving a bimmer (brand new 5 series) was swriving through traffic, so me being a dumbass as well was like "oh yea!" So I started tailgating him right on his ass i was messin with him cuz he was driving like a wang. So eventually after going way to fast through tight traffic he gets off and flashes his hazards at me! I was like wtf!? Okay u won the "race" i just cruised right along by him and shook my head....then later I ran into this guy with an STi, lol, he swooped up to me a gave me a thumbs up I reeeally wanted to race him just to see how good I could hang but an honerable race shouldnt be in shitty traffic so nothin happened.

Probably 13.6...maybe 13.5 if i really drove right. As far as my death in that "race", it would've been cooler if I actually got to race that guy cuz I woulda spanked him. Oh yea and it was the model before the new 5 series too, not even the new ones http://image.blog.livedoor.jp/arena9...5/f50264b0.jpg

Are you serious? Your car is pretty much close to stock as your mods don't do much for your car in the current state and you think you run mid 13s?

I know I can. Bone stock these cars can do it in 13.74, at least thats the best time I've seen. My car has intercooler and intake which means faster spool and more air flow. that should knock off about .1 or so.

A 2006 WRX stock can do 1/4 in 13.74? You have been misinformed. I have heard low 14s. And the magazine stats say 14.11 @ 98.

When I say your mods don't do much, it's because a larger TMIC does nothing without a bigger turbo. The stock one can handle a lot more than the turbo is pushing. And the stock intake can also handle a lot more power than what the stock is pushing.

Bascially you've bough a 2L bucket to hold .5L of water when you had a 1L bucket to begin with.

Just to give you an idea of what you're calaiming. An avg driver with the basic mods of a WRX which gets the car to about 220-240whp does the 1/4 in high 13s to 14 flat.

You have a near stock WRX pushing about 180-190 whp and you think it can run mid 13s? It takes a pretty good driver to get that kind of time with a stock STi.

A WRX is not that fast.

^^^ Pfft, like you would know. J/k Yeah that does seem a little fast for WRX. Take it to the track and get some hard evidence of what you can run. It should be more like low to mid 14's depending on how well you can drive.

Wtf? Um first off Read DSport and they dynoed the car (06 TR) at 206 STOCK at the wheels in xs-engineering (Irvine, CA), secondly they modded it with intake and exhuast and it was dynoing at 220 (this is before they even tuned it). Now as for the 1/4 mile check this out. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...1&page=1&pp=25

P.S. SL as soon as I can find a drag strip around here I am going, does anyone know of any good 1/4 mile strips in southern cali?

The fact that you think weight has something to do with how much a car dynoes shows you know very little and I will humour you no further. Please obtain some timeslips.

And the link you posted the car is obviously a very good driver who has got his drag technique in a WRX sorted out very well. Just read how he's shifting etc. Also, he never stated what his car dynoes. It MAY be a factory freak. He MAY be lying...nobody knows, it's the internet. There are many many factors that have gone into that that nobnody knows about.

The point is, 2006 WRXs do not have a reputation to run mid to high 13s. This means that the ones that do are out of the ordinary.

You may very well be one of these people.

But until you show a tiumeslip, I would rather go with what is more likely i.e. you're overestimating your car by basing it on one freak 1/4 mile time.

I erased that shit about wieght but you flamed me anyways, I think you just don't want to believe the truth. I will get a timeslip as soon as I find a drag strip and prove you wrong. I am not in anyway being hostile either, its just that I know how fast my car is and I used to drive an evo so I have a damn good idea of what the wrx is doing. Oh also, I said I READ DSPORT tuner magazine! They dynoed the car @xs-engineering in Irvine California. Thats not a freak factory time I have been in other 06's.

::edit:: You are not GOD and you don't know everything, and neither do i so chill.

When I loaded the page, teh stuff about weight was still there. That's not my fault. The fact you wrote it still implies that you know very little (the fact that you got an intake and arger TMIC as your first mods supports this further). There is nothing wrong with knowing little, I don't know much about cars, I admit it. But I am learning.

I am chill, you're the one that seems to be a little agitated.

As I said, I don't hear anything special about the 06s other than they have more potential. They come from the factory quite restricted (as if extra 500cc pushes out 4 more hp), so STOCK without some ECU tuning, I wouldn't think they'd do anything that special.

And when did I claim I knew everything? I said in my last post that it is possible that you may run those times. HOWEVER, as of this time, I am going to believe what is more likely i.e. that you CAN'T run those times.

You post those timeslips of what YOU run (not what a magazine claims or what some semi-pro guy claims) and I will be the FIRST to congratulate you because it is VERY impressive to run a stock WRX at mid 13s.
