How to program a new FOB

I just bought a 97 Vette and it only came with one FOB so I'm looking at one on Ebay but the dealer wants $40 to program it. Does anyone know how to program these things.

For my 1994 vette, from the manual:
1. Move all transmitters out of range.
2. Turn the ignition on
3. Push "Trip ODO" button twice
4. Within 5 seconds press and hold "Fuel Info" until the "passive Key entry" light comes on
5. Turn the ignition off, leave key in ignition. The PKE light should stay on and begin to flash.
6. Bring a transmitter into range, the light should stop flashing, showing that it has recorded that key fob.
7. Move that transmitter out of range, and the light should flash again.

Repeat 6 & 7 until all transmitters are recorded, maximum of 3 fobs.

Re: How to program a new FOB

Here is for the C5 Corvette...

Resetting and Reprogramming Keyless Entry Remotes

To reset a keyless entry remote, stand in range of the car and hold the "Lock" and "Unlock" buttons for 10 to 12 seconds. If it resets, the horn will sound and the remote will work again. If this does not work, follow the procedures below:

1) Turn on the ignition, but don't start the engine.
2) Press "Reset" button in order to clear any IPC display warning messages.
3) Press and release the "Options" button on the Driver Information Center (DIC) to scroll through the display options until the IPC display is blank.
4) Press and hold the DIC "Reset" button for 3 seconds until the FOB TRAINING message appears.
5) Press "Reset" once again and it will ask you to hold the "Lock" and "Unlock" buttons on the first remote. (Corresponds to Memory button one, if you have the memory option)
6) The horn will sound, indicating the remote frequency has been learned.
7) Repeat the process for the next remote. You can have up to 3 remotes per car.
