7MGE rod bearings

I'm trying to replace the rod bearings in an 89 w/a 7mge. How do I get the d#%*ed oil pan off? Do I have to remove the whole front end?

You can try to loosen the motor and transmission mounts and see if you can raise it enough.
I've changed them on an 6MGE but I pulled the engine. On the supra if you disconnect the computer harness and pulled it through the fire wall you could pull it with unplugging the engine wiring harness a rough job.
