Sienna 04, Transmission operation

My wife has 2004 Sienna with 30 K miles on it. Iwas driving it the other day and it seemed like the RPM's were higher at highway speeds than they should be. At 65 MPH the tach was indicating between 2600 and 2700 RPM. Also, I noticed that when I kept my foot on the gas and lightly touched the brake pedal the rpm's did not increase from 100 to 200 rmps like I am accustomed to seeing most transmissioons do when they go out of direct lock up. Is there a problem here?

Thanks

Not to be insulting, but did you make sure that the overdrive (perfomrance) button was in the appropriate position?

Doug:

I am not insulted! I thought about that and looked for the button but could not find it! Does it have one and if so where is it located?

OK! I went and read the owners namuel. There is subtle difference between the "D" position, moving the shifter straight down, and the "4" position, moving the shifter slightly to the left. I don't drive this car much so I was a little out of touch with how it worked. It wasn't crystal clear after readinig the owners manuel. At any rate, that little change shaved off about 700 RPMS.
