Throttle Body Spacer for 06

Would any of you recommend a throttle body spacer on a 2006 4.8 Crew Cab?

There are nothing more than an expensive paper weight.
A good waste of money IMO.

Re: Throttle Body Spacer for 06

The Vortec enignes do exactly what the throttle body space does.. it is not nesscessary on this enignes.. in fact it may give you worse performance because you would be disturbing the airflow into the intake manifold.

Re: Throttle Body Spacer for 06

Air intake, PCM retune, modified cat-back exhaust. Those are the major 3 things you can do that will increase HP and MPG. Also get a bed cover if you do a lot of hwy driving

Re: Throttle Body Spacer for 06

having the Computer re-programed to get the maximum out of your truck..
They can change the shift timing.. change your mpg.. just about anything.

There are several places that do it.. the more popular place is a Nelson's Tune
or you can get the programer and do it yourself.. not as effective as a Nelson's tune though.

Re: Throttle Body Spacer for 06

I can get a Hypertech programmer for $300.00, but that wont help my gas mileage because I will always have my foot barried in the gas.

Re: Throttle Body Spacer for 06

Hypertech's are pieces of crap also. I had one and hated it. It made my truyck ping like crazy. If you want performance and such. Settle for no less than a custom tune from Nelson @ www.nelsonperformance.com
