Front end noises.

Hey guys..been a bit since I posted..have had no problems as of late.
But I got one now..hard to believe with our lovely Blazers

When I am driving..I get a weird noise when I go over bumps.
I have done the hood fix..so it's not that.
We replaced the linkage tonight..my mechanically inclined buddy thought it may be that..but still no fix.
It's not the shocks..those are newly replaced about two months ago.
It's definatly in the front..sounds like a creaking noise.
Wish I had a better explanation.

Any thoughts?

I would start by lubing ALL the zirc grease fittings for your suspension (I think there are 11 or 12). Don't think this is too simple. Don't forget those upper ball joint grease fittings (you may need to remove the front tires to reach these).

could be various bushings, but I'd start with the grease.

Everything is getting lubed up on Thursday..and has been on a continual basis, but the noise is still there.

Just a shot in the dark, but I was getting a funky squeek in the rear, so I shot my springs with penetration oil and it stoped....lol....shoot just were the springs touch something....yea I know the springs are dif in the rear...but...itsa shot in the dark...

Creaking noise = usually dry ball joints.

Alright guys..it's going in for service tomorrow..I'll get them lubed up, see if that makes the difference.

I would check the front stabalizer bushing or sway bar bushings - this fixed mine.

Do it yourself, they NEVER get the 10-11 fittings.

Also, as I did today, you always pump in 4-5 pumps of grease while there is no weight on the wheel in order to get the grease properly into the ball joint.

Jack up the wheel just so the weight is off of it, lube the upper and lower balljoints and drop it
Then do the other side.
Then the inner and outer tie rods
Then the idler and pitman arm

I just lubed my front end, what a difference, smooth as silk.

Well we just lubed everything on that list like you said LT, and the noise if gone. Much thanks for that easy fix..thas what I get for leaving it to the shop to say they did it I guess.

I wish someone would lube my ball joints..........as always, gotta do it myself...sheeesh

Mine did that and needed ball joints...What a pain in the a$$ job to do on my 2000.

Remember to lube the balljoints with no weight on the tires. Jack the side you are greasing up so you can fill the joint properly or you won't be getting much in.
