Re: ? about 1992 eagle talon factory alarm

He can turn off the alarm by putting the key in any door on the car and unlocking it. If he can't do that then just pop off the door panel and take the two wires that go the the lock and put the two wires together and it should turn off the alarm. You don't need to keep them together just put them together and start the car. I hold no responsibility for any damages you do but I know that this works.

It's easier than that.

Inside the car on the passangers side infront of the door is a panel below the dash. pop that off and there is a black box in there. unplug that and wala no more alarm.

That turns it off for good? That's probably the best way to do it because without the key ring alarm remote he can't use it anyways so why have it.

Yep that disables the whole thing. And if you ever find a substitue ring you can just plug it back in.

Re: ? about 1992 eagle talon factory alarm

hello,

dident try it yet.i might buy the car off him for $1000 and then fix it for myself.he had it for a couple months and it just sits thereand its a tsi.turbo is new.and many other thuings are new. the only things he needs.is to stop the alarm.wich he drove it to his ouse and it drove perfect then he turned it poofff and on again, and then it wouldnt stop beepin and wouldent let him start it.so when he has a charge in the battery and connects the cable it just beeps and bees untill the battery dies.so is i get it ill just disconnect the whole thing like u guys said, from the passenger side.,so will that def make it better so he can start it.

but the only thing he needss is a rear rim.and the valve gasket.everything else is in waorkin condition.

so do you guys think its worh gettin for $1000-1500 and then fixing it up.its a tsi and turbo is new.he has some steel braided lines in teh engine dn what they are but its not bad.from looks.

and dont the 92 talons have a timing belt problem.and what are also some known problems they have.

thanks

yeah it's worth 1-2k maybe more depending if it has some mods. The timing belt should be replaced every 60k miles. If not it could have problems but not any more than other cars. I would buy that for sure, if you don't let me know so i can add it to my family of dsm's.

Re: ? about 1992 eagle talon factory alarm

Well i think it will be pretty expensive at a shop. I'd say book time is more than 5 hours, but i'm not sure on that. You could go for a greddy belt but i really don't think it's necessary, an oem belt should be fine. You should also replace all of the components that go with the timing belt (idler pulley, tensioner pulley, and hydralic tensioner) You can buy it as a kit here http://www.slowboyracing.com/shop.php?sid=&cat=1054 (near the bottom of the page) If you don't have much experience working on cars you probably want it done at a shop. BTW you should also remove the balance shafts as long as you have that side of the engine apart.
