Well lets see it is an Automatic! I will be driving down the road going 70 and suddenly the engine would rev. or something to that nature and drop to 40. Then the next morning I will try to drive it and you have to push the gas way down to the floor and it barely moves. The later down the week after sitting for a while it would start up and drive just fine for a while. I would have to put oil in it constantly and it would disappear quickly, checked the underside to see if it was leaking but no trails of anything. So some mechanic changed out the transmission and it worked fine for a few months but then went back to the same thing. Then I took it back to him to see what was wrong and then he starts to tell me it is the torque converter. So I dont know what is wrong! Any help would be appreciated!!! Thanks!

I'd say you should check your radiator. If the contents of the radiator look like pancake batter and if you're losing oil and can't find it, I'd suspect it to be leaking through a bad head gasket and that would explain the oil loss you can't find, it could also explain the lack of power. oh yeah I forgot to add that...my roommates father, changed the head gasket and radiator fluid. I believe he was thinking the same thing but it still does the same thing. Thanks!

My bad it wasnt oil fluid! It was the transmission fluid that keeps dissappearing!

You're leaking fluid (I leak a quart a day).
The same thing happens to my car when it's low.. It either does no move, or only moves if I really rev on it.
The solution?
Fix the leak/keep putting fluid in it.
Check the bolts on the bottom of the pan.. If more than 2 of them are loose/ missing, change the fluid AND the filter.
I thought my transmission was completely shot, because the car would not move, except when I first started it up, and if I shut it off, then turned it back on, the car would go again, and it just turned out to be a clogged up filter.
