Why is everyone so agains ricey 4th gens?

Just kinda curious. I live in an area with little or no competition racing, plus that isnt really my thing.. Why doesnt anyone seem to like the ground effects, nice custom thingies, and shit?

I am ricing my vehicle cause I want a nice clean ride, and putting some moderate go to it so it will get up and move.. Skipping the stickers though.

clean and rice don't go together. rice = neon washer squirters/led muffler tips.

I am one that is totally against rice. i hate it with a passion. but body kits are cool, hoods, and tasteful wings are cool.

and custom shit is totaly cool, just as long as it doesn't suck and make sure you do it well.

Rice doesn't refer to show cars unless they have mad stickers for stuff they don't have, washer LEDs, and stupid APC crap on them.

I laugh at Rice, but still it's not my car so let them fuck it up.

I dont see anything wrong with the windshield washer lights but i say bump all that apc crap, its all cheap in my mind the only thing i would buy made by them is clear corners maybe

i am also against rice because not only does it make the import car modification scene look like a bunch of idiots, it looks like shit, and it is a waste of money. Let's put it this way: if you can buy whatever you are putting on your car (besides OEM replacement parts) at Schuck's, then you shouldn't be buying it. What I am talking about is Euro/Altezza tails, windshield banners, mesh grille inserts, billet ANYTHING, washer LEDs, etc etc... the list goes on. Also anything in the JC Whitney Sport Compact catalog. But unfortunately taste and money are two things that aren't often together, so you see a lot of rice. People who buy rice crap should save up their money and put something on their car that actually makes it go noticably faster while still being tasteful (custom 2.25" mandrel bent exhaust with a 3" tip or smaller would be a good place to start). Another big problem that creates rice boys is that guys buy imports, and want to be involved with the import/racing scene, but they don't know jack shit about cars, so they buy what they can buy, and what they understand (which comes down to stickers and billet battery tie-downs).

ricing is just SO lame, that is why everyone hates it...

if you cant get ppl to look at your car on its performance merits you have to distract them with colurful lights... its just pathetic... a good body-kit aint bad, but putting neon under your car is just lame, the same goes for those LED wipers and s**t like that... i'd rather spend the money on making my car go fast than making it look 'pretty'

theres this boy in my school with a cavalier i dunno what year, well he got in an accident got his front end fixed and painted but he decided to keep the black primer hood and then he put a red atomic bomb thing emblem then on back he has an sir symbol on a cavalier then he has a huge ass muffler that sounds like someone ran over a moose and continues to sit on him, then i think he cut apart some of his dash board to put a labtop in it, i think its a laptop if its not its a freakin huge tv screen.....we rip on him everychance we get

riced out american cars are the worst. there was a cavalier at my old school that had shitty wheels, all sorts of stickers, and he took it down to the track to race. he pulled a 17.5 and he drove around with that on his windshield for WEEKS afterward... we gave him SO much shit for it.
