The BHP on the ZC is about 130-137 w/108 ft lbs of torque - if you want more specs go here -

http://tech.hybridgarage.com/tech/specs.htm

and look at the D16Y8 engine.

I don't know how much their shipping is - you best bet would be to just call them and see.

88-91 Honda Performance Engine ZC(DOHC) 4 Cyl $495 Engine+5speed Trans: $600, +ECU: $750; +LSD: $950

This is on nippon-motors.com and I am just trying to decipher the parts..
I have an engineless 91 STD right now and am looking to put one of these in there.. What is the LSD they are selling on there and is it required?

Anyone wanting to sell a working ZC engine to upgrade? The thought of buying an engine from these people scares me because they wont say it works perfect, plus I have heard people have problems with them.

get ur ZC from hondamotors online, they charge 300 shipping to residential and 275 to commercial, they also guarantee no broken sensors, and it works. If u have a si u wont need anything but the package from hondamotors online. ecu will work but a integra would be better. if u have a si tranny and its good keep it, it will work perfectly. I am also debating this swap, sounds like it would be great. People say that a usdm ex engine would be better but i honestly think the ZC would stop that engine. The DOHC has much more power after u shift compared to the SOHC. Im sure if u replace all the necessary stuff on the ZC it will be very reliable. I wouldnt waste my money on getting the ecu, lsd tranny, engine for 950 cuz then ur close to the price of a b16, but for 500 bux good deal. Also if u have a dx u will have to convert the fuel injection, and the dx tranny isnt that good.

Wink

I WOULD get the ECU for the ZC...they are rare in the US, and that is the ECU made for that motor. It will run better than a US Si or Integra ECU.
The LSD is Limited Slip Differential (in the tranny.) Read up on that to see if it applies for you and something you want. Most people don't have it.
The ZC tranny is weird...not good for any highway driving here in the US, but great for short run street racing I think since it has a really low final drive and tightly spaced gears..It'll get up and boogie!!! - But the Si still seems to be a better all around transmission.

You'll need to wire your STD hatch for MPFI for a ZC, or any motor you get besides a d15, so you can read up on that too..The Hybrid Garage has a lot of info...also check out ZC info at HASport www.hasport.com
My $0.02

DOHC ZC, I,H,E, urethane bushings and mount inserts, rock chipped hood, some rust, stock steelies, nice comfy Integra seats, and the A/C works! What else could you want from an 18 year old car with 241,000 miles? Working on getting the Si tranny in now

I can just tell I am going to end up needing some fucking parts when I am putting this thing all back together. Every swap tech site I have found for the same exact swap says I need different parts.

I have a 91 STD 1.5L 4spd, but have a 89 DX 1.5L and 5speed trans that I would like to get some use out of the parts, trying to figure out what parts I need to goto a DOHC ZC 1.6L

I think I need...
Engine
Throttle Cable from 88-91 CRX Si
ECU (PM6, PM7, PG7)
Conversion Harness ($249? Can I build this from an existing DX harness?)
Injector resistor box ?
86-69 Teg Upper Radiator Hose
Timing Belt ?
Water Pump ?
Distributer Cap ?
Plug Wires ?

I think this will work...
89 5spd DX Trans, although a SI trans will be preferred.

You can use the DX tranny..ANY D-series tranny will bolt to the ZC...it is just a matter of your preference(even your 4-speed will work, but the gearing won't allow the ZC to shine much )
The DX tranny has the same gears as the Si tranny, but the Si tranny has a different final drive, making it rev a little higher at equivelant engine speeds compared to the DX...For reference, the ZC tranny makes the engine rev even higher than the Si tranny.
I was planning to keep my DX tranny with my ZC swap, cuz I didn't want the thing to turn 4000 RPM on the highway, but the synchros are shot in it and I got a good deal on an Si tranny with my motor...

Yes..you will always need parts...I bought a fuel rail and injector resistor box from a wrecked Si since my ZC didn't come with injector plugs...It cost me $50 - so far that is all I have needed to go find that I didn't have or did get with the motor when I bought it. Since then I decided to completely rebuild the ZC and have spent $800 on it - but that includes everything on your list, minus the ECU and plug wires

Keep asking Q's dude - it'll help you make the right decision for you. Good list so far....I don't think you need the conversion harness...you can do it yourself with the wiring diagrams on the web.

Yeah, I found a DX to ZC Wiring thing, its no big thing.. I am comfortable and patient enough to rewire the thing myself..

I have no idea where to get some of those parts.. See, the problem I have here is that there is no import stuff around.. All the junkyards carry domestic only because I live in a state that is shit.

I will probably start posting messages on the forum looking for the parts I need.

Also, Someone mentioned to me that I probably want to take the knuckles from my DX and put them in my STD (the DX is the parts car)
What the hell are they talking about?
