ready to put in turbo

so i have most of the parts to start insalling the custom turbo kit in that i have put together, the only question is what is a good full management set up should i go with?? i know that apex makes a good fuel management but i was thinking about putting the money into a piggyback system in it, i want to get the car dynotuned right after i get the turbo in and lines ran, but i want to still have it realiable but i was just wondering if any of you know or have used any good piggyback systems for there neon....

thanks

Re: ready to put in turbo

custom wire in an AEM EMS computer. complete standalone is FAR superior to any piggyback you can find. with teh aem you have full control of fuel/timing/boost, plus you can tune anything and everything. you can wire in nitrous, water injection, or anything else you can think of. well worth the cash. i love my comp.

Re: ready to put in turbo

where can i get the AEM, i have heard that they are great but no one has told me how much or where i can get them from??? what did you pay and where did you get it from? i am going to get my car dynotuned and once that is done i really do not want to touch it, (tunning wise) till i am ready to build the bottom end of my car, but i have put alot of money in the top end and do not want to distroy it if something is not tuned properly, is the aem, worth it to get or can i just get fuel managment system, such as an Apex and will it be reliable, that is the biggest thing that i am worried about is RELIABLILTY ...thanks alot, for the info and i really could use some help with this so anyone with some info let me know

Re: ready to put in turbo

i have one for sale. i can ship it to your door for$2069 and will include a free wideband gauge for you. however, you will need to get it fit and tuned. no guarentee's it will bolt right in, infact it probably wont. will need a competant shop or you must really know what yoru doing.

is it an automatic transmission, cause that will require even more tweaking. if you are interested, let me know

i really hope you know what you're doing, if you tune that turbo wrong, it will explode, it's not really that safe to tinker with a turbo.

Re: ready to put in turbo

no, its not the universal one. it is the srt4 computer. number is 30-1510(u). you may have to repin the wiring harness of your car a tiny bit, but anyone who has the right tools can get it done in a couple hours. heck, i had to repin every pinnout for my computer when i had the meltdown. that only took me 5 or 6 hours. once you get the pinnouts correct, its only a matter of a little bit of tuning to get it straigtend out. should be pretty cake actually. plus the fact that you have the manual tranny makes it even easier. i could probably have the car up and running well enough to drive in 10 maybe 15 hours, and im not a tuner. i just do my own tuning

Installing a turbo on a neon isn't difficult. You just need to have all the parts ready. The neon is extremely easy to work on and learn about.
