clear side markers

does anyone know the easiest way to seperate the two pieces? i have 2 new ones coming after messing up my old ones, and I'd like to know how the people that cleared them did it.

ah. just black out the rear tail lights. i did. also the rear backup lights, look much better blacked out. i will post pics soon.
