Need some help, buying 92 civic hatch

Hello all, just found this forum while looking around for buying tips.
i am in the market for a 1992 civic hatchback, now i have found 2. one is from a private seller, it is a 1992 civic hatch cx i beleive, it has a b16 ls vtech swap, it is in good condition, they are asking 2,800. that seems a little high, it has some body damage, for instance the molding they did to take out the plate hole and put it on the bumper is cracked, and it is a ugly yellow.

the second one is a 1992 civic hatch as well, this one is nice red. no engine swap but it does have intake and exaust, has been droped, is very very clean. has 16' no brand rims, new tires. and a FINE body kit. this one is 4200 financed from a dealership.

now what i need help with is how can i talk the private seller down price, and what are some ways i can talk the dealership down. and is a 92 civic hatch red body kit'd worth 4200.. the red is under 92k miles, the yellow is 114k miles.
please help, financing would be much easyer for me.

Re: Need some help, buying 92 civic hatch

Id go with the yellow, but Ive never heard of a b16 ls vtec <-----(and this is the correct way to spell vtec, very touchy subject here on the forums) there is a b16 swap, and there is an ls vtec swap, 2 completly different motors, if it has the b16 Iwould most definatly buy it, im not that fond of the ls motor, but even with an ls I would still take the yellow hatch over the stock red one. all depends on who you are and what you like, red one is all show no go, yellow one is no show all go.

from reading your post...it sounds like youre more of show than go type of person...if you cant even spell vtec...or know know excactly what it is...go with a show car...
from what i read i think its an LS block with a b16 head...thats the most popular way to do the LSV swap
