Short Throw

Does anyone know where to find (if it's possible) a short throw shifter for a 97 GAGT? I looked through the performance links in the sticky, but I wasn't able to find one, and wondered if anyone personally knew of one that might not be in there. Any help is much appreciated.

BTW, do you think a sunfire short throw might work?

Thanks again!

Re: Short Throw

wow...I don't find too many fellow grand am 5-speed owners anymore, good to know of another.

As far as the sunfire short-throw, I wouldn't know if it'd fit, the sunfire is more like a cavalier than a grand am...

Re: Short Throw

It's hard to FIND a 5-Speed in much of anything anymore, but I refuse to drive an automatic.

Yeah, I know the Cav and Sunfire are J-Body's and the GA is an N-Body, but I was hoping it might fit. I just don't wanna buy it and it not work.

Re: Short Throw

my 95 is also a 5 spd and they dont make them for it either. Then again they dont even make a cold air intake for 95's so i guess im not surprised.

I looked everywhere for a short throw with no luck so i cut a 3.5 inch section off the stick and welded the threads back on. It at least gives the look i wanted and knocked a little distance off of my hand movement between gears. Gotta make due i guess.
