Re: 2WD or 4WD???

2x4 is the way a 2 wheel drive vehicle is described technically. A 4 wheel drive is a 4x4 and an all wheel drive is an AWD.Your rear springs are for 2wd unless someone has changed them. To lower the rear of your truck use some inexpensive lowering blocks between the rear axle and leaf springs. BJ

Re: 2WD or 4WD???

If you want more of a drop than 3 inches you will need to go to mazdabscene.com and see how those guys have notched and bagged their b2200's. There is a black cannister on the passenger side fender well that collects vapor from the fuel tank. Never heard of one going bad but I am sure that you can find one at a junk yard. There are several lines going off these cans so be carefull to mark them if you replace. BJ

Re: 2WD or 4WD???

OK. I am not sure what year your truck is , but I have a 1992 b2200. On my tank is a white fuel filter that matches the description you give. You can get those at AutoZone or just about any good auto parts place for a few bucks. The only other thing I can think of is an in-tank fuel pump and they are pretty expensive. I will look in my repair manual tonite and see what it says and post again early in the am if I find out anything. BJ

Re: 2WD or 4WD???

Bump. Lakewood makes a very good set of traction bars that bolt up to the rear springs of a 2200 and keep your rear axle from "wrapping up" under hard acceleration. They do not drop the truck, but do stiffen up thr rear end considerably. About 175 bucks a set at any good speed shop. Beyond that Iam no more help. BJ

Re: 2WD or 4WD???

thanks thats awsome, i have a 1992 B2200, im also in canada but i called Mazda and they told me it would be about 45.00 for that little thing and at a low take it would make the truck burn a lot of gas so it was something to do with vapor

Re: 2WD or 4WD???

Looked in my repair manual last nite and could not find anything like you are talking about in fuel system or pollution control system. It may be something unique to Canadian trucks .The other thought that hit me since some of the hoses aren't hooked up is thet someone replaced the fuel tank with one from another truck, maybe a 4 wheel drive version.Sorry I couldn't be of further help.
