Well if you want the 6 speed tranny then I'm assuming that you want the SR20DET from the S15. The S15 SR20DET puts out 247hp.
check out http://www.srswap.com/f_faq.htm for info on swapping the SR into a 240. All models of the SR20DET drop right into the 240SX without any modifications to the engine bay. For the S15 SR20DET, expect to pay anywhere between 3500-7000 for it. The price will depend on what is all included, condition, and mileage of the engine. If you are going to order one then make sure you get one that is a complete set because you don't want to get a motor that doesn't include everything and then you have to search for parts somewhere. Also, I think that in 1994 they only made the 240SX as the convertable version.

Yes, the S15 SR20DET will be an ALMOST drop in swap.. The custom stuff you are probably hearing about is that the driveshaft on the S13 has a different mounting location then the S14 and S15 chassis so that will need to be modified. Along with your motor set you will need the S15 driveshaft and the S15 rear differential because the speed sensor is located there. Here are some sites that you can order the SR20DET from:
www.srswap.com www.unstable-hybrids.com http://infinitemotorsports.net http://www.jspecauto.com http://www.venus-auto.com www.streetimports.com www.importautosalvage.com www.tpautomotive.com www.nippon-motors.com http://www.neishlinmotors.com/ Hope this helps

I'm pretty set on the s15, that 6 speed sounds mighty good right now, and like i said its about the price of an ITR motor which is great, im not sure about the maintenance issues since this motor is not available stateside, like what if something odd breaks? but right now im pretty sure im gonna go with this setup. oh and one more question, i read that most of the swaps come with a cluster is this to verify mileage or do you have to use this with your swap?

Ive heard the s15's 6spd tranny isnt too good if u wanna drift etc, its awsome for highway driving tho. Alot of ppl in japan do a s14 5spd swap.
