Favourite F1 design piece

Hello all

After reading the Radiator thread here - http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=563962 - i had a thought for a thread...

What is your favourite design piece on the F1? Everyone shoud have a favourite, so no-one is wrong in their posting (NO flaming please), but it would be nice to know (and see, pictures if possible please) their favourite 'bit' of the F1 and why it is so...

Re: Favourite F1 design piece

Ok, now i'm at home and on my PC with all my pictures on it, here are some of the bits i find fascinating - firstly, the pedals

this is from Chassis XP4 (Cheers Erik!)

and these 2 are from #069

the way they are machined, the way they look, the way they perform and the way they fit in with the rest of the car do it for me

also, the gearknob, this is one from #073

and this one from #070

another design masterpiece

Re: Favourite F1 design piece

Is there any better part of the F1 than this one?

Maybe it doesn't qualify as a design piece in the visual sense, but I think without this engine (one of the greatest ever built) the car might never have achieved the level of success or received as much acclaim as it did.

BTW: Hurst - your first pedal shot comes from XP4.

If you knew that just by looking at the picture, I'm going to be a little scared...

Plus a glorious sound track, especially from a GTR.

Go ahead and be scared - the exposed throttle cable is a dead giveaway. Production cars have a small carbon fiber cover there. Also, the interior in the car he labeled it as is black, so it had to be incorrect.

Re: Favourite F1 design piece

For me, it's the side streak; going from after the front wheel arch to the back wheel arch.

And, of course, the packaging: 3 people, big engine, some luggage and still pretty small.

Ok, substitute scared for impressed. You are great when it comes to these minor details, and I completely forgot about comparing the interior color.
