engine swap?

i have a 96 paseo and want to swap the engine... i was thinking the starlet is that a good choice and what would be the best year to put in?

hey milkylsim, I have a 92 paseo with what used to be 5E-FHE engine, made an engine swap with the 4E-GTE starlet turbo GT engine from the 94 model, this saved me some $$$ I was able to adapt the old computer to the new engine, and the gears just fit perfectly although the ratio is a little off, but you can modify this with no prob. This engine swap is a sweet deal..you get more kick out of the car...no prob with torque or HP, although the engine swap is just an initial step of course...
