Re: Tokyo Xtreme Racer---drift

The Game is fun. Controller configuration are kinda stupid but you could change it. The downfall is the loading, it loads for everything. It has some nice cars. I played it for like a week now. Drifting in the game is awesome. I still enjoy it. I give it 4 cool shades out of 5 but then again I'm bias because I'm a TXR fan. Buy it.

Re: Tokyo Xtreme Racer---drift

Is it out in the US yet? i didn't know that personlally they need to ditch the name brand and go bakc to TXR 0 type where you know what it is and we will be able to have like 5 times the cars we currently do.

Re: Tokyo Xtreme Racer---drift

Yeah it's been out. I'm still enjoying! Yeah I wish they went back to Zero version but with pt.3 game style. I think the reason why 3 and Drift is better game play then Zero is because the style all around. You actually get to see the car and the custom graphics, cars are easier to steer even though you still have that famous TXR slide. Zero was crazy, when you view the cars it spins so friggin fast lol, and it looks like your sitting 10ft back while your playing the game. IDK I can't go back to playing Zero game style.

Re: Tokyo Xtreme Racer---drift

Sweet, I just beat the game two days ago. It said I've only spent 35 hours playing it.. which a bit short in my opinion, but it's super fun either way. It needs more tracks, cars, and car settings. I think that they should fix the A.I. a bit, they seem to love to T-bone my car when I'm in a middle of a drift.. like at speeds where they would hit the wall if I wasn't there!

Yea I think I only had it for 3 days when I beat it. Now I started over and just play it every once in a while, using a bunch of different cars. For $20 I think its a good buy, especially for us TXR fans. I just wish it had online, that'd be the best. My biggets complaint in the whole is game is how friggin HORRIBLE the music is, anywher in the game. The best song to me was in the intro (which looked amazing by the way).

If Genki and whoever made Drift would actually put some more effort into it they could make a pretty amazing game. I bet some other game company is going to take advantage of the drift craze and bank big time. I'll be buying that if someone actually makes a good drfit game.

Re: Tokyo Xtreme Racer---drift

Well the original version of TXRD is Kaido Battle. You saw it in the intro movie(which was badass). The game is fairly old and part 2 improved it so much better. You can the the japanese version but some people say part 2(for the US) is gonna come out pretty soon but still I would get Kaido Battle 2 anywayz. No more of that friggin loading for every single thing in the game. Graphics are better and more cars(I think). I'll try to find a vid.

Re: Tokyo Xtreme Racer---drift

I've seen the intro to the sequel and I still pick the first one because it made it seem so much more dramatic, but I like the song for the 2nd game. You can find that intro on youtube.com if you search.. it'll be there. I completely agree with the horrible music, but like with most games, I turn the music to zero and play my own stuff. I wish the could have drawn out the SP battle more too, by having the bar decrease slower. Most begining races are over within 30 seconds or so.. and that's about 10% of the track.

I still like the game, seeing that it is the first "drifting" game that is on the mountain passes, soooo JDM haha. But really, I mean all other drifting games are circuit racing... boring. If Sony and Polyphony made a touge/wangan game, they'd hit the jackpot, but also run the risk of overexposure and selling out. I dunno, I'm happy with Genki so far, the game isn't too terribly bad. I hate to say it, but it's a fun game. Oh, and I picked up the game for $10 CAN flat. What's that in US, like $8?
