I have an 87 linc TC.. And when i drive with the front windows down i can smell gas... I have no idea where the smell is coming from.. I've had this car for about 6 years and it has always been this way.. I now have the funds/time to fix my baby up..
any help would be great.... Thanks |

Re: Gasoline smell while driving
Hello
Can you see any fuel leaking any where, Or is it just the smell you notice? On my 78 Ford van if I top off the tank I get the same strong fuel smell. I replaced the tank several years ago and it must not have sealed that well at the top by the sending unit. I just need to be careful not to top off the tank. Do you have the smell all the time or just when the tank is full? Mike |

Re: Gasoline smell while driving
Ya, common problem is a broken seal on the top of the tank. You can check around there, and replace the gasket
