suzuki ds 80 (1979?) starting problem...

well a friend of mine has 3 bikes, a honda ct70, a kawi kl250AE, and a 1979? suzuki ds80. the honda and suzuki are his brothers and the 2 bikes havent been ridden in about a year. so ive decided to get one of them to run and ride around on (ive owned a 1977 honda xl175 and ride my friends kawi every once in a while) the last time his brother rode the ds80 he bailed and it crashed and hasnt started since (until the other day) i got it to run a few times with the choke on and alot of kicking. but it would only run for 5 seconds at most (it would rev up then die out)

the original cutoff switch has been replaced with an aftermarket one and the original wires for the front end have been hacked (had lights stock but they were removed) so ive been sitting there trying to trace wires.

the exhaust has alot of white smoke when it starts out but it seems to be normal since its an older 2 stroke.

anyone got any ideas to get this little beast running? (or a wiring diagram?)
