Transmission Question
I Have a 1993 Grand Prix with about 161,000 on it and it's a 3.1L. When you drive and then come back or even go around the block and put it in park the transmission starts to whine also in neutral. Then when you are driving it whines up until 20 and the 25-30 and the stops. Kind of before eve time it shifts. Any Ideas on what this could be?

Re: Transmission Question
I had a whine in my 97 and it turned out to be the waterpump. The alternator can also cause a whine. Are you sure it's the transmission?

Re: Transmission Question
Is the fluid full and what color is the fluid? Check and see if you have good vacuum at the modulator if you do and your mechanically inclined take off the mod and pull the valve out and make sure its not sticky It should come out with no effort at all. I use a magnet and pull it out just make sure you pay attention on how that valve comes out cuz it only goes in one way. If the valve is not sticky its time for a pan drop to see what the contents of the pan is.
