-New 2000 grand prix, mod sugestions?-

I just bought a new 2000 grand prix gtp(supercharged) and i am lookign to add performance modifications but i have no idea whaere to start. [besides the obvious intake and exaust modifications. Any sugestions?

A better question is what do you want? Is it a daily driver that you want to pep up, does it need to have good MPG? Etc. If you mention those things, Bnaylor and give you good specific advice.

Im not conserned with gas milage, its more of my "race car" project. My toyota camery (aka old reliable) is what il be driving back and forth to work every day. The gtp has 45k miles on it and i have gotten sugestions ranging from new pullies, headers, to a chip [no idea which ones i should be lookign at]. My intentions are to have zippy car, not an uncontrolable rocket.

Like mentioned earlier it depends on what you want and how much you are willing to spend. We are fortunate that there are lots of mods available for a L67 or L36. Many are simply bolt on. What is your target horsepower or performance goals...quicker/faster ET? If you plan on driving it on the street then you want to make sure you maintain driveability and some fuel economy. In my case my GTP is not a daily commuter and used primarily at the dragstrip but it is definitely streetable. However, you can take the gloves off and give cars like Mustang GTs or Cobras a run for their money and even blow their doors off not to mention all the riceburners out there.

On a L67, supercharger mods along with intake (CAI/FWI) and exhaust (headers, bigger down pipe, hi-flow CAT, custom exhaust) are your best bet to get performance that will be worthwhile. Smaller SC pulley, bigger throttle body, and re-programmed PCM module from ZZP, DHP or Intense.

You can take it a step higher and get 1.8/1.9 roller rockers, cam and even an intercooler (IC). The L67 takes to mods well and the end result will be very noticeable.

my target horsepower is around 350, and i am looking to spend in the range of $4,000 on it(if this is posible). i do want it to still be streat legal. In essance i guess my question is this, a little rice rocket comes up next to me at a red light revign his engine [sounds like a lawnmower] takes off ane leaves me in the dust. How can i leave drivers of these cars(like a dodge srt-4, subaru wrx, hinda civic) wishing they had my car?

If you are only shooting for 350 hp it is an attainable goal. And you'll be able to do it for under $4K if you do a lot of the mods Do It Yourself and get rid of labor costs. After you mod I don't think beating a riceburner will be an issue.

You'll be looking at cars higher up on the food chain.
