01 Taurus/Sable Elec Door Lock

My right rear door lock (01 Sable) stopped working by electric control (either by front switch or by remote). The power unit in the door is dead. I opened the door cover and could not get access to the the power unit (hidden between panels - close to the lock). Can anyone tell me how to remove and replace the unit? Is a dealer the best bet for buying the new unit? Thanks.
