'01 SL2 won't start
Friday morning it started and ran fine. That afternoon I got in and it cranks but won't start. I can hear the fuel pump engage. Any ideas?

i see you had a past problem with hard starts when cold, was that resolved?
frist, try a jump start,just because it cranks doesn't mean is has the power to start. then check spark and fuel.

After a bit of creative pedal feathering I was able to get it started. It ran fine, so I shut it off and restarted several times with no problems. Took it for a spin around the block, purrs like a kitten. Any idea what might have caused this? I'm thinking I should change the fuel filter. Any tips?

your fuel filter has a service interval of 100K miles
if it started fine at part throttle it could be a million things(most sensor related), but unless it happens again, lets call this a fluke.
