Re: Steering Coulmn problem

Oh dear.

It sounds like the linkage inside the column for the switch is off or broken.

Repair requires disassembly of the column, a job that is best left to those that ask for it.

Re: Steering Coulmn problem

Sounds like the actuator is broken. Its a small cast aluminum piece that operates the pushrod for the ignition switch when you turn the key. They break pretty regular(another one of fords better ideas) lol You have to pull the steering wheel to change it. Most auto parts stores will have it(around 15$ ) , and its not difficult to install, just aggrevating. If youll private message or email me with your address, ill send you a diagram if you like. Sending one through the forum is a pain in the ass cause you have to go through a file sharing service. I dont know whats so cloak and dagger about attachments, and ive sent them several emails asking why, but never got a reply. Come on boys, how about it, lots of other forums let you post attachments??? Maybe some of the moderators will read this, and help us out. Anyway hope this helps.
Later
Ed
