01 2500 wheel bearing replacement I THINK

When your backing up & turning at the same time slowly, you can feel the tires grabbing the road.It doesn't happen all the time.If it's the wheel bearings, how do i no which one it is,how hard are they to replace? any info would be helpful. This has the gas 360 in it & we love this truck except for the gas !!! It has 99,910 miles on it.

it is verry possible that the front axle is stuck engauged wich would cause it to hop when turning. does your 4wheel drive indicator light come on and off in and out of 4 wheel drive?

Re: 01 2500 wheel bearing replacement I THINK

to check the wheel bearings, as well as ball joints, raise the front tires(one side at a time), and grab the tire at the 6-O-clock and 12-O-clock positions, and try to move it in and out/up and down. if there is movement, have someone watch the back side of the wheel to see where the movement is at, if the ball joints don't move, then it's most likely the wheel bearings.
