Thumbs down AutomobileForum.com

When I come to automotiveforums.com, I usually come through the Lambo Cars page. Today I decided to see what's new on the main page, and find a little 'article' about AutomobileForum.com. I am a member there, and IMO, it's the best internet forum I've ever been to. Everyone there knows each other and we're all like family. Yes, it was based off Automotive Forums. But that has changed after the new admin took over. He wanted to make AF one of a kind: a forum with no annoying advertising and a forum where everyone know everyone. And he did. We only have around 350 members, but it's quality over quanity. Everyone there has a lot of knowledge about cars. It's a small community with a big heart. So don't bash something you don't know.

Damn right, from another automobileforum member. It's grown into something your AF will never be.

350 members!
ROCK ON!! I bet theres a mass of knowledge and discussion over there! :ylsuper

sorry.
But not only is automobileforums a complete and rather poor copy of the orginal AF, it has had several members, including the owner try and heavily spam AF.
Its not really a good way to get a good reputation on the internet.
Besides which I think the satrical nature of the article on the homepage clearly shows how much we care.

Say what you want to say, it's grown into something this AF can't: a community.

automobileforum may have a great community, i am also a member on it aswell as here. but no matter how much knowledge 350 members have it cant be as much as the 35,000 (i think its that many anyway) on here. im not knockin you're site, but for plain depth and amount of info this site is the best on the net. There is nothing you cant find out on here.

True, but you also have a large number of spammers and people who spout total bullshit. We're able to weed out the morons and keep the real car guys in there.

There is a huge sense of community on this site as well. Sure, maybe not EVERY forum is brimming with consistantly posting happy faces, but many are. The Completely Off-Topic area has a HUGE world wide sense of community, and it carries over into real life many times, as well as carrying into other forums.

Say what you will, but I'm not leaving here any time soon. It's the best I've found yet.

We're not asking you to leave. We're asking for you to stop criticizing us. We ARE different from you, although we may have started out as a copy. We have something that such a large group simply can't have, a community. And the people who we do have are knowledgeable and are true car people.

So in conclusion, fuck off.

Well, I am all for community and well-being and world peace and ending world hunger and ending poverty and blah blah blah... But kindly refrain from coming here just to complain. If you don't like it, don't look at it. I hate to be so frank, but that's about what it boils down to now.

We have noted your concern, and to ease any further tensions, I am closing this thread. Please direct any further distress to a moderator via the PM system. Thank you.
