1992 civic dx wont start!!!!

i have a 1992 civic dx hatch and in november my dash harness caught fire and burnt badley around the ac/radio (center consol) so i replaced it, installed myself but done correctly, and now the car still wont start, it will crank but wont start, my fuel pump is fine i can hear it and smell gas when i try to start it, my fuses are all fine under the dash and under the hood, and i have noticed that my distributer coil wasnt sparking so i bought a new one and still no good, i checked the relay to the coil with a test light and all the wires light up but coil wont spark... prior to the fire the car worked fine, and also the the guages dont work. all comments and sugestions are greatly appreciated, thanks.
