1997 Transmission Failing?
When making a left hand turn and stepping on the gas I can hear the engine rev up and the car seams to not want to go. As I finish the turn and straighten out the revving goes away and the car runs fine. Is the trans going? The vehicle has 286,000 miles and I've never touched the trans or even changed the fluid. Could this be a trans axle issue?

Re: 1997 Transmission Failing?
Have you checked the trans fluid to make sure it is to the full mark? During the turn the fluid would have a tendency to flow to the opposite side from the turn and if the fluid level is low it may not pick up any fluid which could dump the clutches.
