Fun with a DSM

I am headed to Wal-Mart to go pick up the new Sean Paul CD going across the main drag through our town. I take a turn and see an Eclipse (about a 95) sitting at an intersection at the red light when I'm making my turn. So I drive on and I see his blue headlights making his way toward me. He then goes flying past me and I then I really didn't think much of it other than he's just flying through traffic like a tool. Once we get on the out skirts of town towards where I was heading we finally hit a light with him right next to me (Just showing that flying through traffic only means being a tool and not getting where your going any faster). So he revs to me and I simpily nod my head ( we are now in a 60 mph zone on the double lane highway). The light goes and he jumps a few feet ahead of me for just a second and then I continued to pull multiple car lengths on him (mabye 5 or 6) by the time we hit 80 and I shut down. Now I don't want to say he gave me the ricer fly-by but after I shut down he did continue his speed no longer accelerating and passes me. And as usual (it seems like) I had to turn around because I went passed my turn off to get to Wal-Mart.

Re: Fun with a DSM

I liked everything about your story except for the Sean Juan CD part.....

But whatever ma jigga you reppresentin right on so its all good mang.
Me and the wife would get into little battles here and there at red lights we caught, we usually managed to end up side by side so we would run the GS against the 3K. ahhh good times.

Nice kill. It was probably a gs/esi right? Do you know if it was an auto or manual? Anyways nice kill and way to represent the auto 3/s's

Re: Fun with a DSM

Just out of curiosity, was it a DSM or just the RS or GS Eclipse? I assume you own an SL 3K? I'd think an actual DSM with some work would put up a pretty good battle with ya. Otherwise, an RS or GS wouldn't be too much of a competition. Good kill.

I can't wait to race my old man's 3K. Not to hijack, but I took him for a ride a week back, and asked if he would like to give it a "go" for fun. He doesn't seem to "interested" nowadays...

Re: Fun with a DSM

Judging by the distance you put on him, I'd guess it was an RS or GS as well. But still nice kill.

Re: Fun with a DSM

No way was it a turbo, let alone an AWD. Most mildly modded DSM's would romp you, no offense.

All eclipse's are DSMs (91-99).

Re: Fun with a DSM

I'm sure it was a GS or RS but I couldn't tell you which one since it was partially debadged. And as VtecCivic said, all 91-99 Eclipses Talons and Lasers are DSM's regardless of being an GS-t, GSX, TSi, GS, etc.

Not around here they wouldn't because the vast majority of DSM's around my area ar RS's and GS's. And with minor mods (I assume you mean like exhaust, intake, ect.) I just don't see that as being enough.

Edit: An yes my car is a SL (DOHC) 3kgt.
