import from Canada

Before i ask my question, i know i cant afford a skyline. And i apologize if this is just another thread of the same topic (sorry...it wasnt on the stickies). So here we go.....

After reading some of the stickies and different threads about legalizing a skyline to the U.S., we (the buyer) have two options:
1)piss off your money to Motorex
2)register the car as either a kit car or show/track.
or
Buy a skyline from Canada and get the works (VIN number, registration, legal papers, etc) there and bring it to the states. Now if the consumer does this, does the skyline still need to be meet the requirements and does it still need to be smog check. Because in California, smog testing is a bitch.
