I just got a badass job! (I think)

Yesterday I had a job interview for a valet company called Lone Star Valet. I got interviewed by the company presidnt so that was a bit intimidating. Anyways, the good stuff. I get paid $9/hr plus tips, I get to choose when AND where I work. I'm only 18 (19 in October) so I think is a pretty awesome job for my age and work experience. I get paid to drive other people's cars, I think that's a fair deal right?

Just curious as too how many people here have valet experience. I'm assuming there oughta be a good number on these boards. I just want to know what kind of experiences you guys had and what should I be looking out for.

Thanks!

And its $9, plus tips. And yes people would drive other people cars for free, but I'm getting paid to do it which makes it that much better.

Re: I just got a badass job! (I think)

I've gotten to do some valet stuff, drove a couple BMW's and Lexus's nothing too special. But a friend of mine valets for this rich guys private golf course near my house and gets to drive Ferraris and other very very high end cars, he is quite lucky.

Congrats on the new job...I wish I could find a job valeting.

Re: I just got a badass job! (I think)

omg, its TERRIBLE!! lol, for me it was, it really depends on where you are. I valleted for only a month, $8/hour + tips, in bitter cold november, at the mall. I've probably driven more Toyota Sienna's and Honda Odyssey's then anyone in the world.

HOWEVER... the closes ferris beuler moment i've had is riding shotty in a Lotus Elise my boss took to park. It was actually my customer, but the boss made up some stupid shit about "pricey cars are my responsibility"... he got the nice tip, too... motherfucker.
