Re: 2.73 or 3.23? Whats all this mean?
Torque multiplication, obviously the higher the the drive to driven ratio, the higher the torque applied to wheels. So on a 3.73, the pinsion gear (transfering power form the driveshaft) turns 3.73 for every one time the ring gear turns the axles.

The higher gear ratio (3.23) will get you quicker take-off, lower top speed and worse fuel mileage. A lower ratio (2.73) will take-off a little slower, have higher top speed and better mileage.

Exactamundo, the idea is to get the perfect compromise for your driving style. If you want good take off but good highway mileage. You would be looking at 3.23 or 3.42. If you want very good highway mileage and not good take off's your looking at 2.73's. You get the idea.
