help with vent. system

ok, i'm 17 and recently aquired a '93 accord EX that we THOUGHT was in decent condition. Well, it rained ehre today and i tried the heating/defroster to clear the windows and all this steam came pouring out of the vents. I almost had to pull over it fogged the windows so badly. Needless to say, we ended up having to wipe it off with napkins for me to drive. Any help on what this could be? Also, maybe estimates on price?

Don't know exactly where you live so I'll give you some ideas.

Now, the steam you refer to is not exactly that. It has to do more with temperatures and humidity with our cars. I have a 93 EX 4door. I hate when that happens too. Now you can do one of two things. When it rains and your windshield starts to fog up, instead of using the defroster or what have you, turn on the AC and make it blow from the windshield vents. What you have to do is equalize the temp inside the car, with the outside temp. You'll notice almost immediately, that the windows will clear up. Keep the air pumping but at a real low pace.

You might also want to consider visiting your local autoparts store and purchase a small bottle of Raindance or Amor-all window defogger. I use this and it works. Basically, you use a rag and pour a generous amount of the fluid on it. Then pass it over the entire windshield evenly. Now, it should not be soaked with this stuff. Just like when you're using windex or something. Once you get that done, it shouldn't be a problem for a while. You may also want to use it on the other windows if you'd like.
